Kawai Purapura Yoga School proudly offers 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with focus on lifestyle integration and personal transformation. A dedicated group of students will be taken through the training and receive professional mentorship throughout the course. This is your chance to delve deeper and connect to the richness of Yoga in a comprehensive training. Graduates are certified over 500 hours with Yoga Alliance U.S.

4-24 January: 200 hour foundational Yoga Teacher Training
30 April – 9 May: Yoga Nidra training
12-20 June & 17-25 July: Tantrik Hatha training
1-10 October: Pranayama, Mantra & Advanced Hatha

Course fees of $7750 apply.
Payment plan:
$3200 January 2021. Make 6 instalments from April to September over $760 / month.

200 hours in January 2021
Our 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed to lay a solid foundation for your yoga practice. Students train in Classical Hatha Yoga according to the Bihar School of Yoga (Satyananda Yoga tradition).
The curriculum covers:
- Asana, Pranayama, meditation
- History & philosophy of yoga
- Anatomy & physiology
- Mantra & voice projection
- Teaching methodology & practicum
- Ethics & professional development
- Practices from traditional branches of Yoga: mantra, bhakti, jnana, raja, karma yoga
The course provides plenty of lifestyle integrations and challenges students to experience yoga as more than just a practice!
Students graduate with a certificate over 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Alliance U.S. and can step straight into teaching.

Dates & requirements
The course starts on 4 January at 5pm and finishes on 24 January at 3pm. The 20 days of the training run from 7am in the morning until 8:30pm at night. There are some rest days included. 4 weeks of homework follow the residential part of the training. Pre-requisite for the training is at least 1 year of regular yoga practice.
300 hours of continuous training May to November 2021
Develop a yogic lifestyle and receive ongoing mentorship and support from the Lead Trainers. The 300 hours of Advanced Teacher Training build on the solid foundation of the 200 hour training. The Advanced modules focus on exploring the Subtle Body through Bandha, Kriya, Mudra, Mantra, Advanced Hatha practices and Pranayama. The ongoing mentorship helps you to hone your teaching skills and to reflect on your personal development that will be fueled through this training!
The curriculum covers:
- Asana: Tantrik Hatha, Advanced Hatha
- Pranayama: basic breathing methods, classical Pranayama, advanced practices for spiritual transformation
- Meditation: presence, stillness, focus, concentration, Kriya meditation
- History & philosophy, tantrik philosophy
- Anatomy & physiology in depth and applied to practice
- The subtle body: Prana, Nadi, Kosha, Chakra
- Teaching methodology & practicum
- Practices from traditional branches of Yoga: mantra, kirtan, bhakti, jnana, raja, karma yoga

Accommodation
Accommodation can be booked at Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre. Students choose from the following options:
- Private room: from $45 – $110, depending on room type. Students get 15% discount: www.kawaipurapura.co.nz/rooms/
- Marae style: sleeping in the yoga venue, $25 / night
- Camping: $20 / night, bring your own equipment
Catering
Prema resident cafe provides healthy and nutritious food, prepared with love. Gluten free and vegan options are always available.
A retreat guest kitchen can be used for self-catering. Shops and restaurants are just across the road.
A catering package for breakfast and dinner will be available to purchase for most intensive training courses – ask the coordinator for details!
