Sannyasi Pragyadhara is a passionate and focused teacher who has been practicing Satyananda Yoga for 15 years and developing and extending her skills as a teacher of this integral system for the last 8. Her Yoga practice naturally evolved into a Yogic Lifestyle and she has been fortunate to have spent 5 years as a student/resident and teacher at the Bihar School of Yoga in India where she completed a Masters in Yoga Psychology in 2005. She spent 3 years at the Yoga Academy in Australia as part of the Education faculty team where she was involved in teachers training, retreat management, curriculum development and taught Yogic immersion courses on a variety of topics. She has travelled and taught in China, Australia and India in diverse settings to a wide range of students.
“Yoga should touch your wisdom and the experience of it should encompass something for the body, mind and spirit. Although I studied and taught yoga at a Yoga University what I really understand about Yoga and want to share is what I imbibed through living it. Ashram life is ‘applied Yoga 24/7’ and includes Yoga for the head, heart and hands. You practice and embody the principles of karma yoga, Bhakti, Mantra, Gyan, Raja and of course Hatha Yoga. Asana which is a part of Hatha yoga for me is just the tip of the ice-burg! To expose students to a wide range of Yogic techniques, philosophy and lifestyle is my aspiration so that they can uplift themselves and others and become effective mediums in a modern world of this ancient science for improving the quality of life.”
Throughout the year Pragyadhara travels and hosts workshops and lifestyle immersion retreats on a range of practices derived from the Classical branches (Hatha, Raja, Bhakti and Mantra). Developing and maintaining a home practice. Hatha Yoga cleansing practices, restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Meditation, Mantra chanting, Havan – Vedic fire ritual and kirtan.
