Swami Karma Karuna
Swami Karma Karuna is a founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat, New Zealand, and a dedicated, intuitive yoga teacher with more than 25 years of experience. From an early age, she travelled worldwide exploring diverse spiritual traditions, including in depth yoga certificate trainings in Nepal, India and Australia and 18 years living in and developing an integral yoga retreat centre.
Swami Karma Karuna shares a unique and practical approach, drawing on personal experience of living as a sannyasin with a foot in the world of motherhood and modern western life, thus imparting and inspiring the integration of yogic principles and practice into everyday activities.
Her wide range of teaching spans varying settings and cultures, including therapeutic and social areas, training yoga teachers, guiding spiritual sadhana retreats and working one to one addressing individual needs. She spends several months each year in India and travelling internationally, dedicated to imparting simple and powerful techniques for transformation.
Swami Karma Karuna is the Teacher of the Yoga Nidra & Restorative Yoga module. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise and readily engages her students with her genuine warmth and compassion. She has released several practice CDs and tracks; Yoga Solutions for Life – Essential Daily and Deepening Practices designed to develop a simple daily practice enhancing health and relaxation, Seeds of Creation, practices using the chakras and seed sounds and Yoga for Women, yoga designed for a woman’s body, and including Yoga Nidra-deep relaxation and Inner Silence Meditation. Her latest tracks include prana practices and yoga class and relaxation for health and well-being.
