Kawai Purapura Yoga School offers 3 courses in 2021 that focus on exploring the Energy Body, Pranamaya Kosha.

  • Yoga Nidra Training: 1 week residential from 30 April – 9 May 2021
  • The power of Pranayama & Mantra: 2 weekends in August & September 2021
  • Restorative Yoga: 3 weekends in October & November 2021

These courses teach powerful tools to manage stress and to boost energy levels through profound techniques. Manage your own well-being and inspire your students to do the same. 

Yoga Nidra Training: 30 April – 9 May 2021

  • Residential immersion at Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre
  • 70 hours of training cover theory, applications & learning to instruct Yoga Nidra
  • For personal or professional development: open to yoga practitioners, yoga teachers & health professionals
  • Investment: NZ$ 1350. Including accommodation in private room NZ$ 1850. Payment plan options available.

Students will:

  • explore Yoga Nidra at home & in class
  • learn how to use the technique to manage stress effectively
  • learn how to instruct a 4, 6 , 7 and 8 stage Yoga Nidra
  • Yoga Nidra for various health conditions: research findings & applications

Commitment:

  • 9 days residential immersion: 30 April – 9 May 2021 at Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre
  • home practice 4 weeks before and after the training, using audio files
  • NZ$ 1350 for the training, NZ$ 1850 incl. accommodation in private room. Payment plan options available.

Yoga Nidra does not involve physical movement. Scientific research proves that Yoga Nidra benefits people suffering from anxiety, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, sleeping difficulties, obesity, addiction. The 9 days immersion does involve yoga classes with physical movement, however these classes are gentle.

Students will:

  • explore & develop Pranayama techniques at home & in class
  • learn about the Subtle Body: Prana, Nadis, Vayu, Koshas
  • learn how to teach Pranayama safely
  • Mantra: tool kit of 3 universal mantras, finding one’s voice through chanting

Commitment:

  • 2 weekends Friday 7pm to Sunday 6pm at Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre: 13-15 August & 10-12 September 2021
  • home practice between the 2 weekends, using audio files
  • NZ$ 650 to be paid upfront.

In this course students will explore the power of Pranayama & Mantra in self-practice and classes with Senior Lead Trainer Sannyasi Pragyadhara. The experience will be linked to yogic concepts related to the Subtle Body; Koshas, Nadis, Vayu, Prana. When we are being confronted with stress related symptoms like digestive disorders, chronic fatigue, burn out and depression, Pranayama and Mantra practices offer potent tools to balance the nervous system and contribute to overall wellbeing. Lifestyle applications are one of the take aways from this course.

The 30 hours course is designed for yoga teachers wanting to expand their tool kit and personal practice. It is also open to qualified health professionals.

Over 3 weekends students will explore Restorative Yoga as a form of moving meditation. The training component of the course focuses on how to safely instruct Restorative Yoga to different populations; yoga beginners, for stress management, for elderly, for recovery from injury. This course is designed for yoga teachers wanting to expand their tool kit and deepen personal practice.

Students will:

  • experience Restorative Yoga – as moving meditation, for stress management, for elderly, for recovery from injury, for yoga beginners
  • learn how to create a Restorative Yoga experience for students: qualities of a teacher, class & course planning
  • Restorative Yoga for specific populations: guidelines, precautions, benefits

Commitment:

  • 3 weekends Friday 7pm to Sunday 6pm at Kawai Purapura Retreat Centre: 1-3 October, 15-17 October, 12-14 November 2021
  • home practice between the 3 weekends
  • NZ$ 850 to be paid upfront.
